CSS also offers IOLTA's also known as Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts. The IOLTA is opened by attorneys on behalf of their clients, whether it is one or multiple clients. The account is interest-bearing and the earnings are sent to the Connecticut Bar Association. There are no monthly service charges but other fees may apply.

CSS also offers the Interest on Real Estate Brokers Trust Accounts or IOREBTA. The IOREBTA is opened by real estate agencies or brokers on behalf of their clients, whether it is one or multiple clients. The account is interest bearing and the earnings are sent to the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). There are no monthly service charges, but other fees may apply.

Rather than automatically returning unpaid insufficient funds items that you may have, we offer Overdraft Protection.

With your written authorization, we will transfer funds from a designated checking, savings or money market account to cover the exact amount of the overdraft on your checking account.

A $5.00 fee will be assessed for each transfer to the account from which the funds are transferred.

Have you ever:

  • Made a mistake in your checkbook?
  • Forgot to record a deposit? A purchase? A withdrawal? A check order?
  • Had to “guess” at what transactions a joint owner has made?
  • Had a transaction denied or turned down at checkout?
  • Had the embarrassment and expense of a returned check?

Rather than automatically returning unpaid all insufficient funds items that you may have, we will consider payment of your overdrafts up to your assigned Overdraft Privilege limit. Limits of $800.00 for personal accounts and $1,500.00 for business accounts will be considered.

The Bank's normal overdraft charge ($25.00) will apply to each item overdrawing an account. However, you have the comfort of knowing that your checks may be paid and not be returned.

With some exceptions, most of our checking account types are eligible for this service.

If you do not use the Overdraft Privilege Service, it costs you nothing!
